The Smallest World Festival in the World
the 6th edition of a yearly festival of world music, alternative music and unconventional theater at the Wallenstein Loggia, a Baroque summer palace near Jičín
On September 8 – 10 2023, the first weekend after summer break, the sixth edition of Lodžie Worldfest is taking place. As usual, the festival is set in and around the Wallenstein Loggia. The program includes both Czech and international music, stage plays, as well as activities for children. This year’s special feature is a project focusing on Irish culture.
The Festival LODŽIE WORLDFEST is a loose continuation of the festival GRABŠTEJN WORLD FEST, which took place for twelve years at the Grabštejn Castle near Hrádek nad Nisou.
In 2014, the festival entered a period of dormancy.
In 2018, the team at Valdštejnské imaginárium decided to continue the tradition of the festival, moving it from the Gothic castle to the one-of-a-kind Baroque summer palace that is the Wallenstein Loggia in Jičín.

Valdštejnské imaginárium is a non-profit organization that seeks to bring the Wallenstein Loggia to life in unusual ways. It draws inspiration from the fact that this one-of-a-kind structure was never finished, Wallenstein’s project staying an unfulfilled dream. Over the past several years, the current team at the Loggia have turned this extraordinarily captivating place into a cultural and community center that combines live art with unusual ways of learning about history. Moreover, the Loggia is also important locally as an independent creative platform. Valdštejnské imaginárium’s activity is divided into two main branches – the cultural and the historical. Lodžie Worldfest is the culmination of these efforts.
The Wallenstein Loggia is a one-of-a-kind Early Baroque monument near the town of Jičín. It was built under the Duke Albrecht von Wallenstein in the years 1627 – 1632. Its grand terrace lined with massive arches offers panoramic views of the landscape. It's part of an expansive complex, which today also includes a courtyard and the park Libosad with a grotto. The entire site is situated at the foot of Zebín, a picturesque basalt hill. The Loggia is part of Wallenstein’s composed landscape – the axis of the Jičín basin connecting sacral and secular buildings, local landmarks and Jičín itself. This line is reinforced by a four-row linden allée spanning almost two kilometers from Jičín to the Loggia.
